Sign Of The End Times: Bob Dylan To Release Christmas Album

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Bob Dylan is set to release an album of Christmas songs, including "Here Comes Santa Claus" and the carol "O Little Town of Bethlehem," according to music websites.

Rumors of the album first emerged on Isis magazine website, which is devoted to Dylan. It later reported the songs had been recorded in Jackson Browne`s studio in Santa Monica, California, in May.

David Hidalgo of Los Lobos, who played accordion on Dylan`s chart-topping latest album "Together Through Life," is one of the musicians who took part in the sessions, it said." Reuters

Bob Dylan follows his own muse, sometimes to the detriment of his own career. In his long and distinguished career, Dylan has gone against the grain several times. He upset the folkies when he went electric in 1965, and he shocked most of his fans when he released an album of Christian gospel music in 1979.

I`ve remained a fan of Dylan throughout his many incarnations. I even forgave the rock legend for selling out, and doing a commercial for Victoria`s Secret a few years ago.

I can put up with the iconic star as a DJ, but I will not accept a Bob Dylan Christmas album. The idea is bizarre beyond belief, and I can only conclude that Dylan, 68, is senile.

The spokesman of his generation who wrote and sang "Blowin` in the Wind" and "The Times They Are-A-Changing" crooning "Here Comes Santa Claus" and "I`ll be home For Christmas"? Bah, humbug!

If the Bob Dylan Christmas album is released, I will become an evangelical Christian. Surely such an abomination signals the end of the world.
