Melanie Griffith Back In Rehab

Melanie Griffith Back In Rehab

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Melanie Griffith has checked into a rehab facility.

`She is there to reinforce her commitment to stay healthy,` Griffith`s rep, Robin Baum, said in a statement released Monday. `his is part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago.`"

Melanie Griffith has battled drug and alcohol addiction since the 1980s. There`s nothing sadder than an ageing druggie, it`s tragic that Griffith is still a train wreck at age 52.

I am not of the school that believes that alcoholics and drug addicts are suffering from a disease, and that we should shower them with sympathy and dare not criticize them.

It`s true that some people are more susceptible to addiction, but nobody forced Griffith to take that first drink or to do that first line of coke. We must have sympathy for addicts, but we must also force them to accept personal responsibility for the downward spiral of their lives.

I love the statement released by Griffith`s spokesperson: She is there to reinforce her commitment to stay healthy. The spokesperson makes it sound like Griffith is staying at a health spa for a couple of weeks. Griffith has absolutely no commitment or desire to stay healthy, she makes the decision time and time again to wreck her emotional and physical health by consuming drugs.

Griffith is seeking treatment at the Cirque Lodge in Utah, a celeb rehab center frequented by the likes of Lindsay Lohan. Hello? Griffith, have you taken a look at Lohan recently? Obviously Lohan`s stay at this celeb rehab center didn`t do her a bit of good. If Griffith is serious about overcoming addiction once and for all, she should stop playing games with herself and enroll in a legitimate rehab center.

Grow up Griffith! You are way too old to be playing around, the last few years of your life should be drug-free.
