American Idol Final 4: Who's Gonna Win? Casey James?

By Robert Paul Reyes

It`s down to four American Idol finalists -- who will be the next one to get the boot?

michael lyncheThe theme for last night was songs from the movies, which gave the contestants thousands of songs for every genre to choose from.

I was bitterly disappointed, none of the remaining singers has the charisma of an Adam Lambert of a Kelly Clarkson. They looked and sounded as if they were singing at a bar for a few dollars, instead of competing for the American Idol crown.

Here`s my report card:

Big Mike was a big dud, he shouldn`t have tackled a song by the King of Pop, he sounded like a pauper in comparison. If Lynche isn`t kicked to the curb tonight, American Idol will lose its credibility and legitimacy.

Grade: F+

Where is Paula Abdul when we need her, I can imagine Paula saying "pitchy, pitchy, pitchy". Lee`s rendition of Seal`s "Kiss From a Rose" was the pitchiest performance in American Idol history. Simon wasn`t far off the mark when he labeled Lee`s performance "karaoke."

Crystal Bowersox`s blown-glass mic was back, but her mojo is still missing. Crystal hasn`t had a good performance in almost a month, and the judge`s favorite may not be the next idol. Mama sox improved on Kenny Loggins` "I`m Alright", but Tiny Tim could improve on that boring easy listening staple. But her duet with Lee DeWyze was rocking!

Grade: C+

I pray that James` inspiration for singing "Mrs. Robinson" wasn`t Kara, that cougar would suck the life-blood out of the decent young man.

Casey delivered another solid performance, and I predict that he won`t be eliminated tonight. The superb guitarist doesn`t have the charisma of an Adam Lambert, but his likeability factor is off the charts.

Grade B-
