Ahmed Mabruk serves as co-Editor in chief and managing editor of The Connection, a monthly student-produced newspaper. The paper is consistently a recipient of numerous scholastic journalism awards, including Columbia Scholastic Press Association's Crown Award and Interscholastic League Press Conference's Gold Star.

Mabruk has been honored with numerous journalism accolades, including gold medals in news writing, feature writing and design packages in competitive, statewide competitions, some of which are on-site. Additionally, he is a member of the nationwide Journalism Honor Roll. 

Although Mabruk is not certain right now which college he'll attend after high school, in the future he plans to major in print journalism at a top-tier university. (He is considering Northwestern University and Columbia University in New York City.)

 

Silence surrounds departure of Patricia Pickles - (Pflugerville, Texas) - Though the Pflugerville Independent School District voted unanimously to accept the resignation of Patricia Pickles as superintendent, no one knows exactly why the board was eager to replace her.
