Danish Embassy in Pakistan is bombed

By SOP newswire

Pakistani media and officials say a bomb blast outside the Danish Embassy in Islamabad has killed at least four people and wounded dozens of others.

There is no immediate claim of responsibility.

Reporters at the scene say the blast destroyed the outer wall of the embassy and damaged more than a dozen cars.

Police say Pakistani security guards are among the dead. No foreigners are believed to be among the victims. There were few Danes in the building at the time of the blast.

In Copenhagen, Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Moeller said he condemns the attack.

The incident occurred in an upscale district of Islamabad, where many diplomats and foreigners live.

Denmark has faced threats at its embassies following last year`s reprinting in Danish newspapers of a caricature showing the Prophet Mohammed with a turban resembling a bomb.
