Pirates Drown With Ransom
"Five Somali pirates who released a Saudi supertanker have drowned with their share of a reported £2 million ransom after their escape boat capsized.
Residents and pirates in the Somali port of Haradhere told the Associated Press that the boat, which was carrying eight men, overturned in a storm after dozens of pirates left the Sirius Star following a two-month standoff in the Gulf of Aden.
Three of the eight pirates managed to swim to shore but five were believed to have drowned."
This is great news, but it would have been even better if the pirates had been blown to hell by our navy. We have all seen the video on YouTube of the ransom being delivered to the sea robbers via a parachute. If the pirates were under surveillance why weren`t they blown out of the water as soon as they tried to make their getaway?
The civilized nations of the world shouldn`t have allowed the pirates to make a clean getaway. Even if the party who paid the ransom promised that they would not go after them, it`s not a sin to break a promise made to thieves.
These acts of piracy will continue unabated until the international community gets serious about going after these buccaneers. We know where these criminals live, we should bomb their homes to Kingdom Come. We shouldn`t depend on karma to take out these thugs, I`d prefer to trust in the efficacy of a few smart bombs.
