Taliban Commander: Attack In Washington Will Amaze the World
"The United States has put a $5 million bounty on his head, and he says militants under his control are planning a terrorist attack in Washington that `will amaze everyone in the world.`
And he isn`t Usama bin Laden.
Baitullah Mehsud, commander of the Taliban in Pakistan, told The Associated Press in an interview Tuesday that his group was responsible for Monday`s attack on a police academy in his country that killed seven police officers and injured more than 90 others." FoxNews.Com
Mehsud`s threat isn`t just rhetoric meant to inspire his warriors, he has the determination and the means to attack the United States.
Most intelligence experts agree that Mehsud was responsible for the assasination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and the bombing last year that killed 54 people in the Marriott hotel in Islamabad.
The United States under Bush and Obama has made a mockery of Pakistan`s sovereignty, striking suspected terrorist targets in Pakistan. These attacks have resulted in the death of many civilians, and they have outraged not only Mehsud but the people of Pakistan.
America has no right to interfere in the internal affairs of Pakistan and Afghanistan, if Mehsud attacks the White House or the Pentagon it will be a case of chickens coming home to roost.
How can we blame Mehsud for threatening to attack Washington -- we are bombing his country and we have put a bounty on his head.
