The President of the Indian National Congress to Withdraw Support from J&K Chief Minister

The President of the Indian National Congress to Withdraw Support from J&K Chief Minister

By SOP newswire2

Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman, National Panthers Party and Member, National Integration Council while addressing a press conference in New Delhi urged Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Prime Minister of India and Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, the President of Indian National Congress to withdraw Congress support to the J&K Chief Minister who has lost control over the administration in J&K resulting into a total constitutional breakdown. He warned the Central leaders that they must act fast in the interest of security of the country and safety of the people of J&K.

Prof. Bhim Singh said that there is total collapse of the law and order machinery and intelligence network whereas the local police has failed to provide protection to the innocent people. The police has failed to defend itself also from the wrath of the agitating people in Kashmir Valley. The administration seeking protection from the CRPF has not been able to secure approval of the Chief Minister responsible for the internal security in the state. The latest ban on the mobile phones in J&K today has established Panthers Party`s charge against the state government that there is a total breakdown of law and order in the state. The Centre cannot adopt the old policy of "wait and watch` vis-à-vis the disastrous situation prevailing in the Valley.

Prof. Bhim Singh said that, "the statement made by the Union Home Secretary that appeared in the morning national papers today does not read an iota of doubt that the CRPF in the Valley has been operating in the interest of security of the state and for restoration of harmony. The Chief Minister`s allegation against the CRPF has been rejected by the Union Home Secretary and rightly so". There is a constitutional breakdown and the security of the state stands endangered because of the total failure of the law and order machinery. The Chief Minister has lost confidence of the people and therefore the present government is not capable to discharge its duty to protect life, liberty and property of the innocent citizens.

Prof. Bhim Singh demanded immediate intervention of the Governor under Section 92 of J&K Constitution to save the state from further bloodshed, killings and anarchy.
