Video: Bus Driver Forced To Resign After He Runs Over Snowman
"A city bus driver in Champaign-Urbana has quit over a hit and run... of a snowman.
The resignation followed a meeting with officials of the transit company, who saw a video posted of the driver recklessly plowing over the snow creation on the University of Illinois campus.
The video was posted on YouTube after a snowstorm earlier this month.
It shows one vehicle swerve around Frosty followed by the bus`s accurate hit."
Kids deliberately placed a snowman on the road (not the sidewalk), and with camera rolling waited for a vehicle to run over the hapless snowman. They were disappointed when a vehicle swerved to miss the snowman, and they cackled in delight when the bus ran over the snowman.
If a car had to swerve to miss Frosty, that indicates that the snowman was an obstacle, and the bus driver should be commended for removing the obstacle that could have caused an accident.
The bus driver may have swerved into the wrong side of the road to take out the snowman, but he had the public`s welfare in mind.
The bus driver should be re-hired and given a key to the city, and the clueless kids should be cited for creating a public hazard.
