Oprah Winfrey Implies Americans Are Too Smart To Vote For Sarah Palin
"It does not scare me because I believe in the intelligence of the American public."
Oprah Winfrey`s answer when she was asked by a Parade magazine reporter if the thought of Sarah Palin running for president scared her.
The idea of a Sarah Palin presidency shouldn`t scare anyone, the former beauty queen is unelectable. Palin has a loyal and enthusiastic, but very narrow base. Even if Bristol became a porn star, and Todd decided he finally had enough of his wife`s selfish endeavors, Palin`s evangelical supporters would remain by her side. They would interpret Bristol`s porn career and Todd`s decision to split from his wife as evidence that Satan is attacking their godly and righteous leader.
Palin is anathema to fiscal conservatives, intellectual Republicans. and moderate members of the GOP, her brand of insanity resonates only with the religious right and Tea Party kooks. It is impossible for Mama Grizzly to broaden he base, her claws and her sharp teeth scare the BeJesus out of everyday normal Americans.
Palin is a big tease who feels compelled to drop hints that she is running, but she does so only to remain a viable spokesperson for her party. Palin may not be a brilliant intellectual, but she`s smart enough to realize she will never win the general election. The former governor of Alaska doesn`t want to be president anyway, she`s having too much fun making money as a celebrity.
There will be a female president one day, but it will be a smart woman like Oprah Winfrey, not a dunce like Sarah Palin.
