"Two Berlin police officers were pelted by snowballs thrown by a group of about 40 youths but were able to fight them off with pepper spray, police said on Sunday.
The officers were investigating a brawl early Saturday morning. They ignored demands from a group of about 25 youths to leave and were then attacked by snowballs. The number of youths throwing snowballs quickly grew to 40."
These weren`t kids frolicking in the snow, smiling at strangers and singing Christmas carols, they were hooligans who had been engaging in fisticuffs before the arrival of the police.
You don`t bring a knife to a gunfight, and cops don`t respond in kind when thugs throw snowballs at them. Tit for tat never works, the police had every right to pepper spray the young punks.
Of course if this incident had occurred in the United States there would be forty lawsuits filed against the police.
The cowards fled when they were pepper sprayed the the cops, and many were later arrested.
All`s well that ends well.
