City Officials Not Happy People Want Building Named After Harry Baals

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A former mayor of Fort Wayne, Ind., is leading voting to have a new community centre named after him. There`s just one problem - his name.

With more than 20,000 votes and counting on the city`s online poll, Harry Baals (pronounced "balls") is leading the pack. However, officials caution that Baals may not walk away the winner."

Harry Baals` unique moniker likely earned him a lifetime of ridicule from elementary school to college and beyond. Balls had the balls not to change his name, and he became a respected political leader in spite of his name.

The will of the people shouldn`t be ignored in the name of modesty or decorum. Baals is the second longest-serving mayor in the city`s history, and his service to the city of Fort Wayne should be rewarded.

There`s already a Harry Baals Drive, so what`s the big deal? Having a street named after Baals hasn`t lead to an increase in accidents or the advent of Armageddon.

It would be an outrage if the the new government center isn`t named after Hairy Balls, excuse me, I mean Harry Baals.
