Lady Gaga Japan Bracelet Only $5: Proceeds Go To Earthquake Victims
"A bracelet that Lady GaGa designed to raise money for the victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami has raised over $250,000 in just 48 hours.
The Born This Way singer, who announced she was making the Japan Prayer Bracelet shortly after the country was hit with the natural disaster, took to Twitter to announce how much the wristband had raised, emphasising that `it`s important we help.`"
In a perfect world celebrities wouldn`t exert any influence over their fans. In the real world entertainers, especially Lady Gaga with her fanatical monsters, wield a lot of influence over their fans.
Some celebs use their power over the masses only for self-serving or destructive purposes. Witness 50 Cent tweeting crass jokes at the expenses of the victims in Japan. But Lady Gaga who is a master of self-promotion also uses her international platform to advocate for human rights, and in this instance to help raise money for the victims of the Japanese earthquake.
The Pray For Japan wristband only costs a measly five bucks, buy it now at the Lady Gaga Web site: http://www.ladygaga.com/news/default.aspx?nid=34654&aid=599
If your distaste for Lady Gaga precludes you from buying one of her bracelets, then you can donate to the Red Cross for Japan Earthquake Relief Fund by texting REDCROSS to 90999. Each text will provide $10 towards the Red Cross`s humanitarian efforts.
Get with the program, help the victims of the earthquake in some way.
