Nikki Savastone's Review of Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin

Nikki Savastone's Review of Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin

By Nikki Savastone

Something Borrowed " by Emily Giffin is a romantic, delightful tale of two bright and talented individuals falling in love. Rachael is a Manhattan attorney who celebrated her thirtieth birthday by falling into bed with a gorgeous man named Dexter. This is where most fairytale romances would begin; however, Dexter is engaged to Rachel`s childhood friend Darcy.

Determined to fulfill her maid of honor duties, Rachel vows to forget their indiscretion and stand by her best friend on her wedding day.  However, as the summer passes, Rachel realizes school mates do not overcome the pull of soul mates.

Giffin`s characters shine in this story of love and friendship. They have individual quirks and smooth development throughout the story. You will laugh at the predicaments, question their decisions and fall in love along the way.

Something Borrowed " stands apart from other novels in the genre because of its honest critique of love and friendship. Giffin plays fair by not singling out a character to be the bad guy. " As the reader, you will enjoy the story and probably think about your own friendships.
