Judyth Piazza chats with Brian Feinblum, Creator of Book Marketing Buzz Blog
A new blog for the book publishing community has been launched by Brian Feinblum, the chief marketing officer of Planned Television Arts (www.plannedtvarts.com), the nation`s largest book promotion firm.
Recent posts include discussions about lessons learned for book marketing by exploring the marketing of pop-culture figures Donald Trump and Lady Gaga. Some blog entries have taken a hard look at the future of publishing, technology trends, and what he calls the "epocalpse " of publishing. He mixes in witty insights, personal stories, industry facts and helpful tips to those who want to promote and market their books.
Brian, who began his career in 1989 as the assistant to the publisher of a small, independent book publisher, also takes everyday situations "including how his six-year-old wants to publish a book " and turns them into insightful stories that help inform, enlighten and inspire those who are involved in the book industry, from authors and literary agents to publishers, distributors, and editors.
Brian has served several book publishing companies as a publicist, book editor, and acquisitions editor. Brian, who earned a BA in English from Brooklyn College, became a published author in 1995 when he penned The Florida Homeowner, Condo and Co-Op Association Handbook. He has been with PTA since 1999 and has worked with hundreds of authors. He resides in Westchester, New York with his wife,two young children, and two dogs, a pug and a bulldog.
