Austrian Pastafarian Allowed To Wear Pasta Strainer On Head For Driver's License Photo

By Robert Paul Reyes

"An Austrian `Pastafarian` won the right to wear a pasta strainer on his head in his driving license photo after a three-year struggle.

Niko Alm, an atheist blogger who asked to have his driver`s license photo taken with a colander on his head, was finally found fit to drive by a psychologist, The Daily Telegraph reported Wednesday, and was allowed to take his official picture with the strainer on his head."

If Jews, Muslims and members of other religions are allowed to wear caps to denote allegiance to their respective religions, Alm has a right to wear a pasta strainer on his noggin to demonstrate allegiance to his satirical faith.

Alm is a member of The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, a mock religion with beliefs that are no more ridiculous than those of Judaism, Christianity or Islam.

The Austrian government clearly discriminates against atheists, why did Alm have to be examined by a psychologist before he was issued his driver`s license? Muslims who believe that martyrs will be rewarded with a harem of virgins in heaven, don`t have to undergo a mental exam.

Kudos to Alm for making his point in a humorous manner!
