New York Neighborhood Upset Over Noisy Tent Church

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Neighbors of a noisy New York City tent church say they have had enough.

The tent was set up in the Flatbush neighborhood by the Gospel Tabernacle Church and the congregation is holding spiritual revivals every night for the entirety of August to spread the word of God, WCBS-TV in New York reports."

The Episcopalians hold very solemn, quiet and dignified church services, and not too many people would complain about an Episcopalian church opening in their neighborhood.

Other denominations, Baptists and Pentecostals, are known for having very lively services, but still the noise rarely escapes from the walls of a solidly built church.

I don`t care if Christians bounce off the church walls, roll down the aisles, dance in the Holy Ghost and shout praises onto God -- as long as the cacophony stays within the church walls.

But you don`t have to be the Pope to realize that a canvas tent isn`t going to hold in the noise. The members of the Gospel Tabernacle Church should show a little bit of love for the neighborhood, pretend they are Episcopalians and keep things quiet.

The noisy church can hold meetings during the day, why hold revivals during the night when the hard-working people of the community are trying to get some sleep?

Shame on the Gospel Tabernacle Church, they aren`t spreading the Word of God, they are doing the work of the devil.
