Scott L. Schwartz Returns to Chicago to Support Alicia`s House Food Pantry

Actor/Producer/Director Scott L. Schwartz will return to Chicago, IL to show his support for Alicia`s House Food Pantry ( a week of fundraising events.  Scott will start off his trip toChicago by visiting NBC`s The Talk ", andre-visiting WGN on Monday September 12, 2011.  Last year Scott helped Alicia`s House Food Pantry raise over $40,000.  Scott is a essential part of the fundraising for Alicia`sHouse Food Pantry and will start the week of fundraising with Tip A Star " (celebrities serving for tips) at Rasberry`s Pancake House(3145 Chicago Rd., Steger, IL 60475) from 10am " 12:30pm on Wednesday September14, 2011, Aurelio`s Pizza (1372 Main St.,Crete, IL 60417) on Thursday September 15, 2011 from 5pm-8pm, and the mostpopular on the agenda is the Celebrity Golf Outing on Saturday September 17,2011 at Lincolnshire Country Club(390 East Richton Rd., Crete, IL), followed by dinner with the stars and a huge silent auction. 

Scott L. Schwartzis widely known as the Ultimate Bad Guy " from his acting career including: Ocean`s 11, 12 & 13, Starsky & Hutch, Spiderman, Fun With Dick And Jane, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Star TrekVoyager, among other feature films.  But this The Ultimate Nice Guy "has been visiting children`s hospitals worldwide for the past 12 years afterlosing his sister to lung cancer in 1998.  He realizes the value andimpact of making a lasting impression on children with cancer and how important it is to make each child feel special.  Scott enjoys visiting pediatrichospitals and bringing what joy he can into the lives of every child he visits. They are always smiling during his visits and usually begging him toreturn soon. 

This year Scottjoined the board of Reading, Writing, It`s Exciting ".  RWE is a nonprofitliteracy program designed to improve the reading and writing skills of at-risk children.  For more information please visit:

The Scott L.Schwartz Children`s Foundation is making a difference in the lives of each child in need by continuing to visit hospitals worldwide, helping Santa`s Gift, RWE, Children`sHospital of Orange County (CHOC), and Toys For Tots Foundation of Seal Beach.

More about Alicia`s House: In 2010 Alicia`s House fed 4403 families, 15,401 people, anddistributed 150,358 pounds of food. They were able to do this because of the celebrities, local businesse sand individuals that supported their annual event.  This year with the economy the way it is Juan Hernandez ofAlicia`s House states that he has noticed an increase of over 48% in the amount of individuals they are helping.  Alicia`sHouse is completely supported by donations from individuals, businesses, and the various fundraisers.  All of the money raised will go to feed the hungry and support the pantry.  Alicia`s House Food Pantry is 100%Non-profit.    

To honor the memory of Alicia, who passed awayat the age of 4, January 14, 2001, her Grandma Stella & her Poppy Juanstarted a non-for profit food pantry called Alicia`s House.  Alicia`s House will continue to feed hundreds of hungry families and each box of food distributed will containAlicia`s special loving touch.  The goal of Alicia`s House is to try and alleviate hunger and some of the problems associated with hunger.  Alicia`sHouse provides food, at no cost, to low-income residents of Crete, Beecher,Steger, Monee, University Park, and South Chicago Heights.  Alicia loved people and loved helpingpeople.  She would spend hours working with her grandma, at the church pantry, making boxes of food to hand out to people in need. Although her grandma had a specific way to nutritionally pack the boxes, Alicia would always add her special touch by making sure each box would contain a special treat, usually candy.
