Outrage: Department Store Replaces Christmas Carols With Live Rock Band!
"Live rock and roll is replacing recorded Christmas carols in the windows of Galeries Lafayette as the Parisian department store seeks to drum up curiosity, and client numbers, for this year`s gift-buying season.
Rock legend Iggy Pop, bare-chested as always, has helped Galeries Lafayette get the show on the road, posing for photo fliers in red Santa hat and matching shoes in addition to his signature electric guitar."
When I go to a department store during the holiday season, I want to hear Bing Crosby crooning about a White Christmas and some dude singing about grandma getting run over by a reindeer. That`s what Christmas is all about!
I don`t wanna hear some garage rock band in a department store, they belong in a bar where customers can get drunk to fully appreciate their cacophony.
I love me some Iggy Pop, the rock icon represents the very soul of rock: Drugs and s[e]x. But it`s not drugs and s[e]x that puts me in a Christmas spirit, it`s department stores wino Santas and freakin` Christmas carols.
Shame on Iggy Pop for shilling for a freakin` department store, and shame on the department store for replacing carols with a 3rd rate rock band.
