Tipping Point in The Middle East: Is Another War Looming?
The current unprecedented global pressure intended to force Iran to stop its nuclear programme by trade sanctions designed to cripple its economy and starve its people, combined with the threat to "bomb its cities" is brought about primarily by the influence of the government of the state of Israel upon the US congress and the EU parliament.
Israel is the only state in the world with a secret arsenal containing upwards of 200 nuclear warheads (as estimated by the Federation of American Scientists), plus unknown quantities of chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction " all of which are hidden from the IAEA inspectorate of the UN.
Israel, unlike Iran and most of the rest of the world, is not a party to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty nor to the international treaties and conventions governing chemical and biological weapons. The foregoing information is in the public domain.
Sanctions and military action against Iran, which has not one nuclear weapon, by a state that has secretly amassed over 200, is a travesty of international diplomacy, politics, justice, ethics and the principles of free trade, and is designed to bring down a sovereign state of 1.6 million sq km in area containing 78m people by a neighboring state just 1.25% of its size and less than one tenth of its population.
This unprecedented military and economic action against Iran will likely cause a war which has the potential to turn both nuclear and global and which can affect every one of us. Why is this happening and who will benefit?
The UN Security Council must stop this aggression and resolve to declare the Middle East a Nuclear Weapons Free Zone to include both Iran and Israel, as a matter of the utmost urgency.
