Newark Gang Leaders Call For 'Day Of Calm' To Honor Whitney Houston
"Whitney Houston`s funeral has inspired several of Newark`s gang leaders to call for a day of calm today to honor the Brick City-born pop queen.
The push started after Hykine Johnson - a former high-ranking member of the S[e]x, Money, Murder Bloods who is better known around Newark by his street handle `HAK` - published a Facebook post Wednesday night, calling for citywide peace on the day of Houston`s services at the New Hope Baptist Church."
Whitney Houston has been honored by the Grammys, and thousands of radio stations have been playing her songs in tribute to her legendary career. The Governor of New Jersey has even ordered that flags be flown at half-mast on the day of Houston`s funeral.
But the most fitting tribute is from New Jersey gang leaders who are calling for a day of calm to honor the pop icon. Gang bangers have nothing but love for the pop diva, she helped keep them in business by purchasing an ungodly amount of crack over the decades.
Perhaps the gang leaders can take it a step further, and name a brand of crack after the pop legend. Whitney`s name has a lot of appeal, what crackhead wouldn`t want to buy "Houston Crack?"
I hope that some of Houston`s vast fortune will be used to educate young people on the dangers of crack and other drugs. Remember friends and neighbors the pop icon herself warned us that "Crack is Wack."
