Michael J. Fox comes home to NBC with New Sitcom

By Garrett Godwin

Michael J. Fox first won the hearts of millions as budding Republican Alex P. Keaton on the sitcom Family Ties.

Now, 30 years since his debut, the Emmy-winning favorite returns to NBC with a new series loosely based on his own life.  The untitled sitcom will have Fox playing a New York father of three dealing with trials and tribulations both professionally and personally; production will begin later this year and is looking to premiere next fall.

This will be Fox`s first regular starring role on television since leaving ABC`s Spin City in 2000 to lead the valiant fight against Parkinson`s disease.

Since then, the actor has taken on recurring, guest spots, which includes his Emmy-nominated role as brilliant yet manipulative attorney Louis Canning on CBS` The Good Wife.
