Hurricane Sandy a Trillion Dollar Storm....

Hurricane Sandy a Trillion Dollar Storm....

By Harvey Carroll, Jr.

Hurricane Sandy will require another Trillion Dollar Stimulus from President Obama`s Administration

SANDY A TRILLION DOLLAR STORM....

President Obama may have to request another Trillion Dollar Stimulus to cover the FEMA concerns that will affect nearly 50 million people along the East Coast. The literal "Bailout" will not only help the 50 million affected, but it will also help "Bailout Wall Street" as a number of Insurance Companies and others will be able to apply for SBA low interest Government Loans and FEMA Grants, etc. to prevent major market swings. He will have to address this quickly or the markets could be vastly affected.

During Hurricane Katrina as part of my Operation Super Bowl, I emailed, faxed and contacted FEMA, CIA, State Department, Red Cross, and other U.S. Government contacts to make suggestions to evacuate New Orleans into other states i.e. into the Houston, TX Astrodome Photo`s and YouTube

and others via my Operation Super Bowl plan as I watched Louisiana Mayor Nagan tell everyone on CNN that everything was okay, that the Levies were holding and are strong (I wish I could find the YouTube of his statement as I thought it was silly as I watched flooding occurring on CNN and began my quest to move people to other state`s Football Stadiums).

I shared my thoughts of how I used to participate in organizing mass American Troop mobilizations, railhead tank convoys and the like one side of Germany to the other as well as my planning of the 1st Gulf War and lessons learned in Somalia. The mass Amtrak, and other transports to the major Football Stadiums was of key importance to solve the many needs of the moment. We may very well see such needs again with Hurricane Sandy in trying to deal with the extended time of the cold, rain and lack of City/State Services such as water, sewer, electric, etc.

FEMA Camps at Military and National Guard Installations may take over the needs as the short term Stadium Camps convert gear up for the Fall Football Seasons. The leasing of a number of Hotels in key evacuation regions will also be essential. The leasing or commandeering of such facilities must be within reason as there will be losses due to the lack of travel. Therefore, reasonable nightly rates should be discounted and tax breaks given to those that participate in portioned rooms provisions.

Banking Services may somewhat come to a halt for a short term "Vouchers and Credit Card" issues will have to be creatively handled and fraud issues strictly enforced.

New Orleans, Louisiana is quite small compared to Hurricane Sandy as it affects nearly 50 million people on the East Coast and the wide spread flooding is affecting many states and major cities that are very densely populated.

The Following is per the FEMA Facebook site verbatim:  (Oct. 29)

The FEMA app is showing lots of open shelters along the East Coast for Hurricane Sandy. Download the FEMA app from the Google Play, iTunes, or Blackberry store and pack your phone with safety tips & resources.

You can also find pen shelters by:

- Texting "Shelter" and a zip code to 43362 (example: Shelter 01234)...standard rates apply

- Visiting the American Red Cross shelter map

- Contacting your state or local emergency management office. Here`s a map where you can click on your state for info: http://www.ready.gov/today.

Thank you, and I hope these thoughts add to solving the nearly 50 million people directly affected by Hurricane Sandy as well as the financial investors that will be affected.
