Poll: Most Annoying Word In English Language, 'Whatever!' Just Saying!

By Robert Paul Reyes

"`Whatever` remains the most annoying word or phrase in the English language, a poll indicates.

`Like` and  `you know` trailed in the show and place positions, the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion in Poughkeepsie, N.Y."

American teenagers have distilled the English language into just a handful of all-purpose words: Whatever, like, you know, just saying and awesome.

You can tell your daughter that she looks cute, to do her homework or that grandma just died and her stock response will be: Whateva.

I can just imagine what my niece will say if she is being chased by zombies: Like uncle, you know I`m being chased by gnarly zombies! Just saying! Maybe you ought to shoot them or whateva!

The average mom will forgive her son for crashing the family car, getting drunk out of his skull, or even getting a girl pregnant, but she will never forgive him for saying "Whatever" after committing all these crimes.

Maybe you should pop your kid in the mouth next time he says "Whatever!" Just saying!
