Reebok Dumps Rick Ross As Spokesperson Over Date Rape Song: Video

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Shoe manufacturer Reebok says it has fired U.S. rapper Rick Ross as a spokesman because he failed to live up to the values associated with the brand.

The move comes after Ross was widely criticized for singing about slipping the drug ecstasy into his date`s drink, then having sex with her in the song "U.O.E.N.O`

`Put Molly all in the champagne. She ain`t even know it. I took her home and I enjoy that. She ain`t even know it,` the song goes."

I admit it`s not easy to decipher the rapper`s atrocious grammar, but it`s clear that he is rapping a paean to the joys of date rape.

The media are afraid to criticize rappers for their rampant and blatant misogyny, homophobia, and glorification of violence and materialism, lest they be labeled "racists." But I`m a Latino who was born in the hood, and I`m not afraid to call out hip hop artists for their nihilist values.

Kudos to Reebok for firing Rick Ross as a spokesperson, he is an embarrassment not only to the hip hop community, but to the human race.

Rick Ross, who has a penchant for performing topless, can become a spokesperson for man bras. Or if he loses a hundred pounds he can shill for Jenny Craig. Don`t worry Ross, you can still make a dolla, and we know that with you it`s all about making money.
