Cat Comes Home 6 Months After Going Missing During Superstorm Sandy: Video

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Last November, Uranie Roberts and her family, including Porsche, had to be evacuated by boat from their home in the Chadwick Beach Island section of Toms River after Superstorm Sandy hit the area. The family temporarily relocated to a relative`s home in Point Pleasant Borough before returning to Toms River. While the family was in Point Pleasant however, Porsche went missing."

Cats have an internal GPS that`s superior to anything on the dashboard of your car. But felines still get lost, microchip your pet and it will improve the chances you will get her back.

You may have an indoor-only kitty, but in the chaos of a storm or other natural disaster she may get lost. All pets, regardless if they are allowed to go outside or not, should be microchiped.

It`s truly a miracle that Porsche found her way back home after six months. There weren`t many landmarks to guide the kitty home, Porsche travelled through miles of storm destruction and debris to find her way back home.

Porsche must have used at least a couple of her nine lives in her long odyssey; I`m sure her owner is lavishing her with love and attention.

Insurance will cover the costs of rebuilding your home and replacing your possessions, but even a million bucks can`t compensate you for the loss of a cat or a dog.

Microchip your pet!
