Walmart Apologizes For Refusing To Print Breastfeeding Photo
"Walmart has apologized to an Edmonton-area mother after staff refused to print a photo of her breastfeeding her child, deeming it inappropriate
Kayla Andre`s husband just wanted to print and frame a photo of his wife nursing their son as a Mother`s Day gift, but staff working in the Spruce Grove Walmart photo department deemed it a violation of the company`s policy against printing photos with nudity."
Female breasts are eroticized and featured prominently in movies, television shows and commercials. It`s hard to think of a movie where an actress doesn`t display her naked breasts or at least show an insane amount of cleavage.
We sometimes forget that mammary glands are utilitarian: They provide comfort and nourishment for infants.
A photograph of a mother nursing her infant speaks of maternal love and concern, only a deviant would derive erotic pleasure from such a photograph.
And only a moron or a prude would consider a photo of a mom breastfeeding her baby to be offensive or inappropriate.
Walmart did the right thing by apologizing to the mother.
