I know that my pooch Mandy would die protecting me from any human or animal predator. My thoughts and prayers are with Officer Lerza, he`s lost a friend, a companion and a colleague.
When your partner is a dog you know that he will never betray you, and that he will always be by your side, come what may.
Rocco`s killer, John Rush, 21, faces felony charges of abusing a police animal, disarming a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault, burglary and misdemeanor charges of animal cruelty, resisting arrest and possessing instruments of a crime.
The police officers of Pittsburgh salute their fallen comrade, and dog lovers worldwide mourn the loss of this hero.
