Alleged Sexual Predator Bill Cosby Must Not Be Allowed to Return to NBC
"In August 2006, Cosby settled a lawsuit against him by a Canadian woman who claimed he had attacked her in his Philadelphia home in 2004. The woman claimed she had been sexually assaulted after being given pills when she had complained of feeling stressed. Cosby denied the assertions."
This Canadian lady can`t be dismissed as a gold-digger or a publicity hound, not only did Cosby settle the lawsuit that she filed against him, but 13 other women made similar allegations. These victims were willing to testify against Cosby had the lawsuit gone to trial.
These sordid sexual abuse allegations against Bill Cosby, which first surfaced in 2004-2005, have returned with a vengeance. In light of the accusations of sexual molestation against Woody Allen by her adopted daughter, Newsweek and other publications have revisited the claims against Cosby.
Cosby`s sex scandal merits just one sentence in his Wikipedia entry, and most people are unaware that there`s solid evidence he is a sexual predator.
Bill Cosby`s reputation is the antithesis of the black man as violence-prone thug. From Cosby`s Jell-O commercials, to his role as Dr. Cliff Huxtable in the Cosby Show, to his many speaking engagements he exudes intelligence, charisma and common sense.
Are we so badly in need of a black celebrity that all of America can trust and respect, that we ignore the unseemly and criminal part of Cosby`s biography.
Cosby may be an icon and an institution, but we must all be held accountable for our transgressions. Cosby is returning to NBC with a new sitcom, the comedian will play the patriarch of a multigenerational family.
I urge everyone to flood NBC with emails protesting the planned return of the 76-year-old comic to TV. Cosby should return to TV only to sit down with Oprah Winfrey, come clean, and apologize to his victims.
Read this account of one of Cosby`s victims, and you will begin to understand his depravity and brutality:
