Outrage: Mayor Bill de Blasio Proclaims May 16 'Barbara Walters Day'

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Mayor Bill de Blasio is proclaiming May 16 as "Barbara Walters Day` in New York City.

Walters is retiring that day after a storied television reporting career that has spanned five decades.

De Blasio made the announcement Monday when he appeared on "The View,` the daytime talk show that Walters co-hosts."

Mayor Bill de Blasio`s first months in office have been marked by a series of missteps: Eating pizza with a fork, the snowplow scandal, and speeding through traffic signals, to name a few.

New Yorkers can forgive de Blasio for running over pedestrians and even for eating pizza with a fork, but they won`t forgive him for proclaiming May 16 Barbara Walters Day. "

Barbara Walters has no connection to New York City, and most New Yorkers, indeed most human beings can`t stand her.

Is it too soon to launch a recall petition?
