'Me, I Am Mariah, The Elusive Chanteuse ' CD Bombs! End of Mariah's Career? Video!

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Mariah Carey has proven to be the most elusive chanteuse. Her latest album,  `Me I Am Mariah, The Elusive Chanteuse` has crashed and burned. Fast. Despite great reviews, `Me I am Mariah` is now number 157 on iTunes and 75 It was released on May 27th, just two and a half weeks ago. Saleswise, the album has sold a paltry 75,000 copies through this past Sunday and probably not too many more after that."

Mariah Carey ruled the pop charts in the 1990`s, but lately she`s better known for being the wife of Nick Cannon.

What lessons can we, and Mariah, learn from the failure her album to generate any buzz or sales?

`Me, I Am Mariah`, really? Well girlfriend it turns out you`re nobody! Get off your pedestal, can the diva act, and be grateful if you can still sell out a small club.

At 44 Mariah is a dinosaur, and she should realize that she will never top the pop charts again. She should take a cue from Rod Stewart and other ageing pop starts we reinvented themselves, and remained successful by trying out more adult-oriented musical genres.

It`s not just over-the-hill pop divas who are having trouble moving product, even superstars at the top of the Billboard charts are lucky to sell more than a couple of hundred thousand albums.

My advice for Carey: Treasure your memories as the undisputed pop queen of the 90`s, hold on tight to your much younger husband lest he start looking for a younger model, and act, dress, and sing your age!

`The elusive chanteuse`? Girlfriend, ain`t nobody trying to find you or your CD`s!
