Slot Machine Luck Saves Gambler From Jail
"Police in Germany said a gambler about to be taken away to jail suddenly won enough money from a slot machine to pay off his fine.
Bochum police said the 37-year-old man was wanted by police because he had been ordered to pay a $900 fine or face 71 days in jail for resisting arrest."
Before the police could cuff the one-arm scofflaw (how do you handcuff a one-arm perp?), he started shouting in joy.
It turns out the one-arm criminal got the best of the one-arm bandit slot machine, his $1,268 jackpot allowed him to pay his fine on the spot and avoid doing a stint in the Big House.
Moral of the story? Take your pick:
*Luck trumps good character
*Casino owners are the real criminals
*Luck is no respecter of persons
