Canadian Finds Dead Rat in His McDonald's Coffee

"Ron Morais of Fredericton says he got more than he bargained for when he picked up a cup of coffee from a local McDonald`s restaurant on his way to work.


He was contentedly sipping his coffee that he got Monday from the Prospect Street location until he got to the bottom of the paper takeout cup.

`I always take the lid off to get my last sip of coffee. And when I took the lid off, there was a little bit of a surprise in my coffee cup. It was a dead mouse,` Morais said."

I`m like a lumbering zombie until I have a cup of coffee in the morning; I need that caffeine jolt to get me going.

But this hapless Canadian fellow got a jolt of a different kind, finding a dead rat in your cup of coffee is likely to give you a heart attack.

It`s unlikely Morais placed the rat in the coffee cup himself in hopes of a legal jackpot. Morais was with his co-workers at the time the incident took place, and he showed them the rat.

Here`s the pertinent question: What`s more likely to harm you, drinking coffee that has a dead rat or eating a calorie-laden Big Mac and greasy fries?
