Drunk Woman Mistakes Jail for Bar, Gets Arrested!

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A Hartford woman was arrested early Sunday morning for drunken driving after she allegedly pulled into the parking lot of the Van Buren County Jail, which she believed to be a bar, according to a press release issued by the Van Buren County Sheriff`s Office.

A deputy then made contact with the driver and discovered she smelled heavily of intoxicants and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, the release stated.

A breathalyzer test subsequently revealed the woman had a BAC of more than twice the legal limit of .08, police said."

The woman whose name was not released by the police had just left another bar, and she thought she was at another bar when she pulled into the parking lot of the Van Buren County Jail.

This woman`s name should have been released by the cops; she deserves to be publicly humiliated. In old times we had stocks and pillory to publicly humiliate criminals, today we have the Internet. How dare the Van Buren County Sheriff`s Office deprive me of the opportunity to shame this woman by name?

Thank goodness her bar-hopping odyssey came to an abrupt halt, as she was already rip-roaring drunk. In her impaired state of mind she could have driven through the front door of a convenience store thinking it was at a McDonald`s drive "thru restaurant.

Maybe this woman subconsciously drove to the jail, knowing she`d had too much to drink? Nah, alcohol has a tendency to drown out your conscience and good intentions; she`s just a drunk idiot.

When you mistake a jail for a bar it`s time to join a 12-step program. After her stint in jail end, I hope she goes to rehab.
