Ziggy the Pooch is More Hapless Than Ziggy the Cartoon Strip Character

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A two-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier named Ziggy was found dumped in the woods with a crossbow bolt in his head millimeters from his brain.

Two good Samaritans rescued Ziggy and took him straight to the vet who removed the 20-inch bolt from his head."

This dog is appropriately named Ziggy ; I`m sure most of you are familiar with the cartoon character of the same name.

Ziggy is a short, fat, bald, pantless and shoeless man, he doesn`t have any friends or significant other, or a life for that matter.

An endless stream of misfortunes befall Ziggy, he always finds himself is the most embarrassing, humiliating and surreal predicaments.

Ziggy has a Kafkaesque existence, and his only purpose in life seems to be as a punching bag for the entertainment of others.

In fact in one comic strip panel I believe Ziggy had an arrow through his head, but I may be thinking of Steve Martin.

Ziggy the hapless and unlucky pooch is expected to make a full recovery from his grievous injury.

I identify with Ziggy the cartoon character and I have sympathy for Ziggy the dog.

I hope Ziggy will be adopted by a family that will love him, and I pray that whoever shot him with an arrow will rot in hell.
