Viral Video: Wooden Ferrari 'Drives' the Canals of Venice
"An Italian craftsman is making a splash on the "streets` of Venice with a wooden Ferrari F50 he created to float the city`s famous canals.
Livio De Marchi said he spent 5 months carving a block of pine wood into a 2,000-pound replica of a Ferrari F50 complete with logos and outfitted the final product with a Yamaha boat engine."
When you see a Ferrari roaring down a freeway you imagine the driver to be immature and fixated on making ostentatious displays of wealth and privilege.
But when you see a wooden replica of a Ferrari floating in a canal in Venice you imagine the pilot to be a good-natured fellow just trying to make people smile.
Livio De Marchi`s labor of love is a masterpiece, and it stands out alongside the city`s famed gondolas and water taxis.
