Obama's Summit Against Generic Extremism an Abomination

By Robert Paul Reyes

"They`re burning and beheading victims in the name of Islam, but President Obama delivered a major speech Wednesday on combating violent extremism while refusing to use the words  `Muslim terrorists.`

`No religion is responsible for terrorism  -- people are responsible for violence and terrorism,` Obama told a crowd that included Muslim community leaders at the White House.

Following months of unrelenting atrocities by ISIS killers who released videos of themselves beheading US journalists and, most recently, 21 Coptic Christians, and burning a man alive, the president kowtowed to the audience by proclaiming that `Islam has been woven into the fabric of our country since its founding.`"

The New York Post

It`s not Buddhists who are beheading American journalists and aid workers; it`s not Catholics who are burning hostages alive; it`s not Hare Krishnas who are blowing up synagogues and cafes; it`s not Jews who are kidnapping young girls and selling them off into slavery, it`s not New Age believers who are attacking American embassies -- it`s Islamic terrorists who have unleashed a holy war against the West.

An American president`s primary mission should be to protect Americans, and right now we face an existential threat from radical Islam. If Obama recognized the severity of this threat he would have convened a summit against radical Islamic terrorists, instead he convened a summit on generic extremism.

Can you imagine President Franklin D. Roosevelt delivering his "Day of Infamy " speech to a joint session of Congress, two days after the attack on Pearl Harbor, without naming Japan, and calling upon Congress and the American public to go to war against generic wickedness?

Let`s consider some of the things Obama said at his speech at his extremism summit.

"No religion is responsible for terrorism people are responsible for violence and terrorism, " Obama, told a crowd that included Muslim community leaders at the White House. More Orwellian doublespeak from our hapless commander-in chief, I guess it`s just a coincidence that core al Qaeda, the Islamic State, Boko Haram, Hamas, Hezbollah, and al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula all derive their inspiration and justification for their brutal acts of terror from the Koran.

Islam has been woven into the fabric of Obama` life since his birth, his father was a Muslim and he attended Islamic schools as a child in Indonesia. Obama was indoctrinated into the Muslim faith, although later in life he professed a faith in Christianity out of political expediency. To state that Islam has been woven into the fabric of America since its founding, is pure unadulterated hogwash. It`s just another example of Barack Hussein Obama pandering to Muslims, is it any wonder that many people believe he`s a Muslim?

In his speech Obama said:

Inexcusable acts of violence have been committed against people of different faiths, by people of different faiths, which is, of course, betrayal of all of our faiths.

Thanks for the history lesson Obama, but right now the world is in the grip of Islamic terror, and it`s Jihadists who are plunging the world into a new Dark Age.

Catholics were responsible for the horrors of the Inquisition centuries ago, but the Catholic religion has evolved into a life-affirming faith that compels its adherents to build hospitals, orphanages and schools. Protestants may have used the Bible to justify slavery, but today it`s mainline Protestant churches who are at the forefront of fighting racism.

Christianity evolved, but much of Islam, not just radical terrorism, is still stuck in the Dark Ages. In Saudi Arabia women aren`t allowed to drive, in Iran women who aren`t covered in Islamic garb are treated like prostitutes, in Afghanistan young girls are killed for having the temerity to attend school ...

I don`t see much hope for the world defeating Islamic terrorism, until Islamic countries become more tolerant of other religions, and until we have the courage to name our enemy and obliterate them. Unfortunately, we won`t begin to win the war against Islamic terrorists until there`s a new occupant in the White House.
