Sword-wielding Store Clerk Chases Off Robbers With Machetes

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Two teens dressed like ninjas and armed with what appeared to be machetes walked into the Perry Market on Perrysville Avenue in Perry South late Friday night.

An unarmed customer stopped one of the teens. The other would-be robber pulled out a large knife and demanded money. The store clerk, Jewad Hayih, pulled out a sword and the teen with the knife ran away, police said.

The store owner eventually came out of the back with a gun. The other teen fled the market as well."

The moral of this story: Don`t bring a knife to a gunfight. The store clerk`s sword was enough to scare away the wannabe ninjas, but he should have immediately reached for his gun.

A robber brandishing the longest sword in the world will wet his drawers and flee in panic when a store clerk points a double-barreled shotgun at him.

The store clerk was interested only in frightening away the robbers, but the best way to discourage criminals is by blowing them away to Kingdom Come.

I guarantee these robbers will strike again, let`s hope that at the next store they try to rob they will be met by a clerk or store owner who has no moral or legal reservations about blasting their heads off.
