Woman Who Duct Taped Dog`s Mouth, Posted Pics Found Guilty

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A Rowan County woman who sparked outrage when she posted pictures on Facebook of her dog with its mouth shut by duct tape was found guilty of animal cruelty in court Thursday.

Kimberly Ann Howell, 25, of Long Ferry Road, was charged in early October and was out of jail on $3,000 bond on the animal cruelty charge and failure to appear for outstanding traffic charges."

What makes this woman`s crime so egregious is that she felt that she could post evidence of animal cruelty on Facebook without facing public outrage.

Whenever we see animal cruelty on social media or in real life we must notify the authorities immediately, as a civilized society we simply can`t tolerate abuse of animals.

Howell said she taped her dog`s mouth shut with duct tape to teach him a lesson, she complained that he wouldn`t stop barking.

I`m glad the judge taught her a lesson by sentencing her to probation and 36 hours of community service, hopefully she will serve her community service at an animal shelter cleaning dog kennels.
