"Meesha needed a few hugs and kisses to calm her down as she recovered after being spayed. She was scared and disoriented because her body felt so weird.
Meesha was surrendered to the BARCS Animal Shelter with her brother, Charlie, when they were six-weeks old. They came from an unwanted and unexpected litter of puppies, but now she has a loving family to care for her."
When a human patient is recovering from anesthesia after routine surgery, he needs a little empathy from his physician and nurses, at least until the disorientation dissipates. But at least we know why we are in the hospital, and that everything is going to be fine.
But a poor pooch recovering from being spayed has no idea what just happened to her, and why she feels so weird.
Thank goodness that Meesha was treated by a vet who manifestly loves his patients. Watch this precious moment between Meesha and her vet, as he calms her down with a few hugs and kisses.
